Sales Director - North America

The Role:

POC is a Swedish manufacturer of helmets, eyewear, body armor, and apparel in snow sports and cycling with the mission to protect lives and reduce the consequences of accidents for athletes and anyone inspired to be one. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced North America Sales Director to lead our sales teams and grow POC’s market share across third-party retail channels in the United States and Canada. Based in Park City, Utah, the North America Sales Director will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies and tactics to achieve POC’s business objectives.

 

POC has been present in North America since its founding in 2005 and directly supported X games winners, Olympic gold medalists, and World Tour cycling teams. North America is critical to POC’s global growth strategy and will receive significant senior management attention and investment in the years ahead.

 

Tasks:

  • Lead POC’s North America sales team and third-party agents to achieve sales targets and expand market share in the snow sports and cycling categories.
  •  Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and strategies to grow revenue across third-party retail channels, including e-tailers and brick-and-mortar stores.
  •  Manage relationships with key accounts and retail partners to grow revenue and enhance brand reputation and visibility.
  • Collaborate with marketing, merchandizing, product development, and logistics departments to align sales strategies with overall business objectives and product initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the broader North American team and ensure alignment with other regional sales managers to provide POC a consistent and integrated global sales and marketing strategy.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the sales organization, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and mentorship to team members to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities and threats and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Represent POC Sports at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to develop relationships and promote brand awareness.

 

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales management for consumer products, preferably in the snow sports, cycling, or outdoor industries.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Passion for outdoor sports and a deep understanding of snow sports and cycling markets.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the United States and Canada, as well as to POC's headquarters in Stockholm.
  • Comfort working in a matrix reporting environment with solid line and dotted line reporting relationships.
