POC team athlete Jessica Lindell-Vikarby won the women's alpine World Cup GS at Beaver Creek on Sunday. Jessica was the last to go in the second run and skied to her first career WC victory in giant slalom with a combined time of 2:17.92, 0.09 seconds faster than Mikaela Shiffrin. – “Being in the lead after the first run was something new to me. I was for sure nervous, but tried to relax, breathe and stay calm. I'm glad it worked out in the end. Conditions today were perfect, I couldn't even tell that 29 racers ran before me. Simply a great day”, says Jessica after the race. With an 8^th position in the Ski World Cup opening in Sölden and a win in Beaver Creek, Jessica has one of her best season starts ever. – “It's been a long since I last stood on a podium and I am really pleased to be there again. I've been working hard the last three years on my GS technique and I am obviously very happy it's paying off.” The Ladies World Cup tour is now heading to Lake Louise, Canada, where two downhill trainings, two downhill races and one super g await them.
