The North American Supply Planning position is a highly visible role within the company; working with North American Sales, Marketing, and Finance Leaders and Global Supply Chain & Product Teams to understand the product demands of the sales leaders and customers. The North American Supply Planner is responsible for reducing costs and waste by optimizing allocation between distribution centers and improving logistical efficiencies.


Reports to: North American Supply Chain Manager

Directly Supervises: North American Inventory Allocation and Optimization

No Direct Reports

Key Internal Customers: Managing Director, Dealer Service Team Lead, National Sales Manager, Dealer Services Team, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Sales Coordinator

Key External Customers: Wholesale accounts, POC's sales representatives, and end consumers



  • Responsible for mining data structures (BI and ERP) that will facilitate a clean data history for forecasting
  • Assist with monthly discussions on product and forecast needs with the North American management team to deliver timely and accurate supply allocation between distribution centers
  • Work with Global Supply Chain team to direct purchase orders to correct distribution centers
  • Balance inventory across warehouses with the goal of zero intercompany warehouse moves
  • Allocate inventory to sales orders
  • Lead constrained inventory meetings with key teams
  • Provide extra scrutiny to never out of stock items to assure a high fill rate for critical items
  • Work with North American Supply Chain Manager to ensure correct allocation of demand between warehouse locations to optimize service levels in all sales channels
  • Track sales, marketing, and finance plan input and demand plan accuracy and analyze root-causes for deviations
  • Own Excess and Obsolete inventory policy and process
  • Work with Sales and Finance teams to drive down Excess and Obsolete inventory
  • Create early warning to potential inventory shortages
  • Track freight forwarder delivery performance and response times
  • Participate in the refinement and improvement of supply chain operational processes, systems, and product to support business requirements
  • Assist with the design and implementation of S&OP process across operations and sales teams
  • Assist with monthly S&OP meetings with global leadership teams


The North American Supply Planner is data driven for decision making and input to sales leaders. They are an integration point between Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. Improves and creates processes based on the needs of each sales channel. Strong in excel and critical thinking in regard to data and future planning.

Skill and General Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent specialized education/training in supply chain and/or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Forecasting and Data Analysis software, Demand Works Smoothie, Power BI is beneficial
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Service oriented mindset, highly organized, problem solver, efficient, proactive, energetic
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, visual and written) with quick and efficient response time to inquiries
  • Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
  • Experience with Power BI preferred
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Able to multi-task and withstand pressure in a fast-paced environment
